June Meeting

Dear Members & Friends of PACE,

I am hoping to have a good turn out at the June 12th meeting for two reasons. One it will make setting up for the book sale go quicker and two it will make the planning of next year easier.
I ran the following idea by Lizzie and we agree that she will continue to keep the website/blog,  yahoo group & e-mail loop going.

I am hoping to help establish "pockets" of support throughout the cape. The idea is from DeeDee Robins who experienced this type of support in Florida. They had park groups since the weather is nice year round. We could have church/area affiliated groups with a coordinator for each part of the Cape. I would be more than happy to help set up these groups. Ideally each group would consist of a contact person for your school district (for newbies getting started). And an events coordinator....organizing a park date/ice skating/beach day/co-op etc. The first person would be available to answer questions/help newbies with their letter of intent. The second person would send announcements via the Yahoo Group.

I know some of you are unable to make it to meetings but you are our prayer warriors and support us when you can....meanwhile many of us are at the end of our homeschooling days....and are hoping to help facilitate support even after we "retire".
If the above sounds good to you and you are willing to step up to the plate please let me know A.S.A.P. and be sure to come to the meeting.

If you like the status quo and want to continue with monthly "formal" meetings with a topic or group event the please send me your topic ideas and be willing to host an event and be sure to come to the meeting.

If you haven't started yet now is the time to start downsizing your bookshelves (in all the rooms in your home) and get them labeled for the book sale on June 13th!
Reminder: membership is free but you have to participate in some way to be a support group member.
Grace & Peace,
Lori Chapman

Does your teen like Shakespeare?

MaryEllen Oliver's Shakespeare class has been a huge hit this year.
We are going to finish out with the study and production of......
 Much Ado About Nothing.
She would love to have some more people join us for this last portion of the class.  All kids age 13 and up are welcome!  Show up at the next class or email MaryEllen for more details.  planetcatbooks at yahoo dot com
Classes are 1-3 on Wednesdays at Forestdale Baptist Church.  The class is $25 per student with a $50 cap per family.
This time, we will be doing the entire play, so students will each have their own book to keep, instead of using a printed-on-paper script. Each student will need to bring said book back and forth from home (to learn lines) to each class (to rehearse). We will be adding some extra rehearsals as the production nears.
The performance looks like it will take place during the week of May 26 to June 2, will firm up soon.
NO class the week of April vacation.

Book Sale

My friends, I have been homeschooling 10 years and have accumulated a ton of curricula and resources for K-high school and it is time, time,  time for me to clear the shelves.

On Saturday, March 10th, I will be having a sale.

From 10am to 3:00 at my home.
120 Fresh Pond Road, East Falmouth, Ma

For the sake of ease, I am making a (huge) free table, a $1 table, a $5 table a $10 table and a $20 table.
There will be a ton of stuff on each.
I am doing it this way because to price each piece and cart it about and back disheartens me no end.

Please note, the free table will have a great many of things donated by other homeschoolers at the end of the PACE curriculum sales to bless other homeschooler with.  That was their intended purpose and will be there as such.

Feel free to let me know if there is something you are looking for specifically and I can put it aside for you if I have it and it is one of the items going.

Blessings,
Lizzie

Don't stress out about it, I'll have extras! If you want to bring a goodie to share that would also add to the fun.
